graduation piece MANNA at Uferstudios Berlin, June 2025
MANNA
27. Juni 25, 7pm
28. Juni 25, 5 pm
Uferstudios, Studio 1
Concept + choreography: Diana Naber (formerly Thielen)
Dance/performance: Chelsea Reichert, Naama Ityel
Sound: Mariana Carvalho
Material research, costume and set design: Cecilia Xuetong Feng
Light: Andreas Harder
Dramaturgical advice: Alisa Tretau
Mentors: Maya Weinberg + Siegmar Zacharias
Supervisors: Nik Haffner, Susanne Vincenz
MANNA moves between glacial melt and birth chamber, between laboratory and ritual. At its core are materials whose mutability — from solid to liquid, from transparent to porous — serves as a starting point for choreographic research into transformation, bodily boundaries, dependency, and empathy. Between tender care and threatening closeness, the performers negotiate their relationship to the materials - and to one another. Their bodies merge temporarily, only to separate again. They become mother animals, reptiles, aliens.
